A culture that puts people first

Our challenges

Training enlightened citizens

Since 2012 and the merger of the region's three universities, we have welcomed 80,000 students to our university's 5 campuses. Our mission is to support them and help them build the world of tomorrow. Recognized for our values and our commitment to all our communities, we make "living well together" a priority and place the environmental transition at the heart of our actions.

Our history
AMU has more than a hundred socio-economic and cultural partnerships to contribute to local innovation, the competitiveness of the local economic fabric and the professional integration of its graduates.

An ambitious social policy

Quality of life at work

At the university, the quality of life at work (QWL) is studied in all its dimensions - human resources, health, disability, sport, sustainable development, culture, etc. - to provide the best responses to the needs and expectations of our employees. - to provide the best possible response to the needs and expectations of our staff. Our ambition is to make our campuses fulfilling places to live. A social observatory enables us to monitor and report on the university's actions in this area.

Work-life balance

Work-life balance is a key element of QWL and a lever for gender equality. A number of measures have been put in place, including a charter and a teleworking package to enable employees to work from home in the best possible conditions, flexible working hours, a wide range of leave entitlements, etc.

Our commitments

Priority given to "living well together

The fight against discrimination

Fighting discrimination and promoting equal treatment - between genders, origins, sexual orientations and gender identities - is fundamental to enabling our communities to live together. In 2020, a dedicated Vice-President was created to lead a strong policy and numerous actions on the ground: awareness-raising, information and training initiatives, partnerships, events, etc.

Handicap support

We support our students and staff with disabilities, with the help of a dedicated internal unit and mission (BVE-MH) to help them along the way and make the necessary adjustments to simplify their daily lives.

Everyday solidarity

Creating a place for professional success and personal fulfillment means combating precariousness, particularly among students. A number of schemes have been set up to help students in difficulty build their professional and personal projects, including financial aid, a healthcare access network and community grocery stores.
