Emilien Rousset
I'm a civil engineering and urban planning graduate of INSA Lyon. Before joining amU, I worked as a Project Manager in the private sector for international clients, on a wide variety of projects: airports, highly technical public buildings, tertiary sector, hotels, data centers, luxury residential, etc. My career path enabled me to change fields several times, opening up different areas of expertise. My career path has enabled me to change fields several times, opening up to different areas of expertise, but ultimately this meant a lot of travel, which was incompatible with my family life. In 2021, I joined amU and started working on the strategic projects of the recovery plan, which put me right at the heart of the university's challenges.
My main motivation for joining amU was to be closer to where I live. I had no idea how a university worked before joining the team, but I was pleasantly surprised by its dynamism and by the ambitious projects led by a highly motivated hierarchy.
I specialize in managing and setting up complex construction and renovation projects. My areas of expertise cover all aspects of the building industry, with a particular focus on ways and means of reducing energy consumption in line with the university's strong environmental objectives.
I work closely with the university's various departments on the financial, economic and technical aspects of projects, and ensure that the functional and technical programming of buildings meets the needs of users. As the person in charge of invitations to tender and orchestrating operations, I have developed excellent communication skills, with a wide range of internal (lawyers, accountants, researchers, lecturers, training departments) and external players (architects, design offices, contractors, etc.).
